Pairing of the Week- Pumpkin & Patty’s

Yet another reason to celebrate fall and the month of October…Pumpkin Beer!!! We love being festive and enjoying the many different types of pumpkin beer the world has to offer during the month of October. This month we will be trying a new type each weekend to share with you all! This week’s pairing of the week is…

Patty Melts with Shipyard Brewing Pumpkinhead

As I was saying, October is the month for all things pumpkin…including our beer 😋 I went into the liquor store and purchased three different types (one for each remaining weekend in October) and this happened to be the lucky winner for this beautiful fall weekend! It is a very affordable beer and was actually not too heavy. It was more of a light, wheat beer and was very easy to drink! Sometimes pumpkin beers can be pretty heavy and darker. This one I loved because of how light it was with just a touch of pumpkin flavor. I was a bit nervous to pair it with this recipe, but it actually ended up tasting really good! The pumpkin beer was a very nice addition.

I chose to pair this beer with this patty melt recipe for a couple of reasons. One- while doing my research I read that this type of beer would pair well with a grilled cheese…so I thought, why not throw a hamburger patty in there? 🤣 And reason number two…If you couldn’t already tell by the picture…these patty melts are TO DIE FOR. If you have never had or heard of a patty melt before…prepare for your life to change. It’s basically a grilled cheese but with caramelized onions and a hamburger patty. 🤤 These are my brothers favorite meal that I make and have quickly become one of Jordan’s favorite as well. You won’t be disappointed!

From my kitchen to yours…Enjoy!
