11 Days till Christmas!! That means Christmas Parties are being thrown at you left and right, and the big day just around the corner. This holiday drink is the perfect addition to any Christmas party or for Christmas Day. It pair’s perfectly with pretty much any Christmas cookie… so today’s Pairing of the Week is…Christmas Cookies & Oma’s Wassail
This is the most delicious holiday drink!! I make this every year for our Christmas party, and every year when people arrive they ask “did you make that Christmas drink!?” (The name is a bit tricky for some people π). My mom and Oma have made this on Christmas day ever since I can remember. The smell of it brings back all my childhood Christmas memories and literally just tastes like Christmas!
I’ve shared a couple of my Oma’s recipes on here before, and talked about the role my Oma had in my passion for baking and cooking in my “About Me” section. She grew up in Holland and had a family of bakers, her mom even owned a bakery in California when they moved here when she was a teenager. Oma passed this recipe down to my mom who then passed it down to me! It’s an original recipe from Holland- so you KNOW it’s got to be good!
One thing you can ALWAYS find at any Christmas party or on Christmas day are CHRISTMAS COOKIES! This wassail recipe pairs so well with basically any Christmas Cookie- which is why it’s such a good recipe to serve or bring to a party or Christmas dinner. You know what else you can find at a Christmas party? A gift exchange!! My favorite part βΊοΈ This year at our Christmas party I won the most perfect gift! My friend Torey who brought it had said “I literally bought that with you in mind.” π€£ My friends know me so well! I have yet another party this weekend, so it was the perfect time to make the Vanilla Bean Reindeer Cookies I won with my beautiful mixing bowl π. This was such a fun and easy cookie mix from Pelican Bay (found at TJ MAXX)! If you’re looking for a homemade Christmas Cookie Recipe click here π
